Fourth Anniversary Show
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
Tuesday Mar 08, 2022
This week marks the start of our fifth year of this podcast. They say one definition of crazy is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results. Well, call us crazy because we've definitely heard some of these stories before and we're not stopping. Still having a laugh, still taking a shallow dive into various deep topics and a deep dive into some shallow topics. Today we talk about the looming Third World War then tip a glass of bubbly to the shows' longevity and our wonderful, supportive listeners. Cheers!

What has been behind Art's piano for the last fifteen years? The first half of this episode is light and silly. And then we felt the need to talk about the Ukrainian elephant in the room. Each of us copes with horrible news like the Russian invasion in our own way. Here are some good suggestions for keeping your stress level manageable.

We're back in the same room and no zoom. Good audio, good stories. As we age, learning new things is good for the brain so Susan and Art challenge each other to try something new and uncomfortable. Learn something, experiment with something, try something. Plus, some weird news about a "Catch Covid" show in Lynnwood and other odd news.

Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Once again were fortunate enough to have the funny and wise Milt Abel, a real gem of a human being and top shelf comedian who's back in Portland after a few years in California. We swap industry stories and play a game of match the comedian with the funny line.

Breaking Point
Tuesday Jan 18, 2022
Tuesday Jan 18, 2022
As we approach the two year anniversary of the pandemic, it feels like we've been stretched to the breaking point for so long we're finally about to snap. How long will we have to continue to isolate? Will we still have any kind of social life when it's over? In this episode we talk about quarantine fatigue (again), funny news stories, and Art is hoping for more streaming channels because he's seen all the content on all the channels. Half way through it, Susan administers a home Covid test on herself to get ready for her weekend of work, then 15 minutes later gets the result. Be sure and stick around to find out!

Quittin’ Time
Tuesday Jan 11, 2022
Tuesday Jan 11, 2022
They're calling it the "Great Resignation". Across the country, workers are deciding not to go back to work after the pandemic. Many are still working remotely but many others have taken this last two years as a chance to reset, rethink the "living to work" model and do what they want to do with their precious lives. And employers are faced with actually having to treat their workers fairly or lose them to competitors. Also, funny news stories, Art's birthday, and a nod to the late Bob Saget.

New Wind Blowin’
Tuesday Jan 04, 2022
Tuesday Jan 04, 2022
Economists and Astrologists agree that big changes are on the way for our workforce. Worldwide, more and more companies are switching to a least a hybrid of in-place and virtual offices. But the questions are bigger than that. Is capitalism a failed experiment? Is greed good? Many predict that 2022 is the dawning of the age of Acquire-less as the pandemic is causing many to re-examine their life choices altogether. Has capitalism failed? Is consumerism sustainable? Will there be a major political upheaval this year? Susan and Art have a fun and interesting shallow dive into some deep topics. We don't have the answers but we'll get you thinking. We think.

Buckle Up, It’s 2022
Tuesday Dec 28, 2021
Tuesday Dec 28, 2021
We don't have Carnac the Magnificent but we do have some predictions for 2022. After the dumpster fire that was 2021, things can only get better. Sure, the virus rages on and climate change is getting more and more real but we also found some hopeful news out there and we always find a way the laugh at the scariest stuff. We're dealing with the coming year the way we'd deal with a wild gorilla. Stay calm and don't look straight at it.
