Haters and The Anti-Haters Who Hate Them
Monday Sep 28, 2020
Monday Sep 28, 2020
The Proud Boys converge on Portland from around the country for a rally that draws about 200. Counter protesters meet in a different park. No violence ensues. Sorry Fox News. Guess you'll have to show some clips from demonstrations in Kentucky or Wisconsin or Germany to prove what an anarchist state Oregon is. Also, Art does a live show at a casino in Coos Bay and lives to tell about it.

Smokeless in September
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
The smoke has cleared from the wildfires and we can get back to just worrying about the pandemic and democracy. Susan officiated a wedding and Art chatted online with a tech support person from some other country. Hard to say.

Friday 9/11 happy hour
Friday Sep 18, 2020
Friday Sep 18, 2020
In case you missed our live FB post last Friday on our FB page "Art and Susan's Podcast", here's the audio. 9/11 is sad enough even without a pandemic, and President Crazypants. Raging wildfires have turned the skies orange and made Portland's air quality the worst in the world. We're number one! We're number one! In this episode, Art mixed a little of this and that into his coffee. So in spite of all the toxic events, we were still able to squeeze out some good laughs and find a better perspective.

Robert Duchaine

Tuesday Sep 15, 2020
Starting out the week with our old friend and former Portland comedian Robert Duchaine. What a hilarious guy. We really needed a laugh and he delivers. He talks about living in a casino in Vegas for a year and half and why he'd never do that again. He tells us why he changed his name from Robert Duchaine to Shane Roberts, then back again. But mostly it was just a blast to hear from this self described misanthrope to get his take on the weird world we're living in. Enjoy!

Friday Breakdown

Monday Sep 07, 2020
We start off light with some good laughs then spiral a bit into the events of the week. Whatever you do, don't watch footage of pre Hitler Germany right before the evening news. If do, have a drink handy or a bong, or some chocolate or whatever it takes to tamp down the panic. (Apologies for the stereo sound. We’ll fix it when Art’s new computer arrives.)

Friday Happy/Angry hour

Monday Aug 31, 2020
In case you missed our live FB episode on Friday afternoon. We checked in with Carl Wolfson to talk about the latest about the Dem and Republican conventions, the shooting of protesters, and other upbeat topics. Then we talk about happier things to give ourselves a break.

Friday Laughs with Rod Long and Geoff Young
Friday Aug 14, 2020
Friday Aug 14, 2020
We had the privilege of joking around with our good friends and comedians Geoff Young and Rod Long who have a new sports themed podcast called Lockdown Sports. Things have been weird for sports fans for the last few months as fans have been limited to choices like cornhole, tiddlywinks, and reruns of the 2009 Wimbedon Finals. And now that they're starting back up again, it's still weird. Thank god we have Rod and Geoff to keep us laughing about it. We had such a laugh with these two and I know you will too whether you're a sports fan or not.

Time is a concept. Hours. Weeks. Weekends. What does any of it mean? It's all quarantine time. Time to reflect on the disaster of the pandemic in America. Time to watch those in our society that don't think they should have to make the same sacrifices as the rest of us and so it goes on and on and on. Shoulder to shoulder pool parties. Quarter of a million bikers in Sturgis, S.D. gathering close. Who needs masks and distancing. Are these episode descriptions starting to sound like the deranged ramblings of a remote island castaway? At least we can laugh about it...when we're not screaming about it.

Is this really happening or are we in dystopian science fiction novel? Instead of just venting about current events, we brought in political expert Carl Wolfson. Progressive talk show host and author of the book Slide, Carl is probably the most knowledgeable political junkie we know. Today he helps us stand back and look at what's happening downtown Portland and the upcoming elections. Always informative and funny, Carl was just the tonic we needed for this moment in time.
