Bye Bye Baby
Tuesday Jan 19, 2021
Tuesday Jan 19, 2021
Hellvis is leaving the building. Deep clean the White House. The grown ups are back in charge. We're all on pins and needles waiting to find out how the last couple of days of this four year train wreck will play out. The Qanon mob and far right militias are poised and ready to cause violence around the country, then blame it on Antifa. And Biden is geared up to start acting like an actual president and heal a broken country. Yeah, we got political. It's a pivotal time in the history of the USA and we couldn't just walk by the elephant in the room without acknowledging it. I don't think we got too angry. Hope is around the corner and we did find some funny.

After being chosen by Willamette Week magazine as Portland's Funniest Person of 2018 , Jake Silberman has hosted two podcasts, and produced two comedy crowd work specials. This past year Jake has taken his comedy to the streets with a series of YouTube interviews in the middle of the protests of 2020. Portland has been the epicenter of culture wars and he has been in the trenches talking to Proud Boys and Black Lives Matter demonstrators. He shared with us some of the most interesting things he learned by delving deeper into the scene than the tv stations cared to.

Did That Really Just Happen?
Friday Jan 08, 2021
Friday Jan 08, 2021
Maybe the strangest and scariest week in the Trump presidency (and that's saying something). How do we get our heads around the events of Jan 6th and hold on to our hats for the next two weeks until the inauguration? Believe it or not we actually found some laughs in this emotionally exhausting week. We did our best to stay as light as we could but you've been watching this, right?

Tuesday Jan 05, 2021
Tuesday Jan 05, 2021
How will schools continue to teach our kids during the lockdown? Should we open up yet? What did school learn from the last nine months? We brought in our friend Dawn Greene to talk about it. Dawn is an administrator for a California magnet school. She has dealt first hand with the challenges and strategies presented by the pandemic. And she has some great insights as to how we should move forward from here.

2020. Let's Pretend That Didn't Happen
Friday Jan 01, 2021
Friday Jan 01, 2021
It's New Years' Eve after maybe the worst year in human history. So we decided to keep it as light as possible and talk about the good things that were lost in the shit show that was 2020. And we made some predictions for 2021.

Christmas Passed
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
Tuesday Dec 29, 2020
Christmas 2020 has come and gone like a raccoon passing through your backyard at night. Not a lot of fuss, fanfare, or excitement. Just a sense of relief that it's over and your dog is okay. We did our best to make some holiday cheer in spite of the lockdown. Lots of fun.

We're so excited that David had the time to hang out with us. He's such a pleasant and entertaining guy. I know you'll all agree. Enjoy.

I'm Mad as Hell and I'm Not Going to Remember What I Was Just Saying
Tuesday Dec 15, 2020

You are never too old to protest. Joe Rastetter and Melinda Pittman have been politically involved from the Vietnam War to today. They're as old as we are! And both had an influence on the Portland comedy scene back in the day. Joe, with his comedy class and as the driving force behind The Silver Dollar Pizza open mike (the main Portland open mike back in the late 80s-early 90s) and Melinda as a member of the Fallen Angel Choir which was a household name every holiday season, doing song parodies of Christmas songs with a political twist.

Tuesday Dec 08, 2020
The Thanksgiving turkey has been eaten or frozen and it's time to get it into gear for the holiday Covid lockdown. We share some of our holiday traditions and talk about how things will be different this year. How will you overcompensate this year for the lack of human interaction? We've got some ideas.

Back From Holiday
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
Tuesday Dec 01, 2020
We're back! Art has been sidelined helping his wife recuperate from knee surgery. An intense couple of weeks. A lot has happened while we were gone. The vaccines, watching the Trump legal team flail like a blindfolded drunk trying to hit a piñata, a Thanksgiving during the peak of the Covid resurgence. It's been interesting. We have stories to tell and some remembrances of the ghosts of Thanksgivings Past.
